On December 18, the circuit breaker of the 4 million kilowatt photovoltaic project of China Green Power Ruoqiang was successfully closed, marking the successful connection of my country's largest single-unit installed capacity "Shagohuang" photovoltaic project to the grid.

The 4 million kilowatt solar energy system project of China Green Power Ruoqiang is the first batch of new energy base projects in Xinjiang. The project is located on the southeast edge of the Taklimakan Desert. It was started on August 29, 2023 with a total investment of 15.588 billion yuan.

The 4 million kilowatt photovoltaic project of China Green Power Ruoqiang covers an area of ​​about 76 square kilometers, equivalent to the size of 10,647 standard football fields. Solar panels and photovoltaic piles can not only serve as power generation equipment, but also as wind and sand barriers, which will effectively intercept most of the sand and dust in the wind and sand flow, and the sand blocking area reaches 17.2 million square meters.

After the project is put into operation, it is expected to generate 6.9 billion kWh of electricity annually, which can meet the annual consumption of 2 million households at the same time. It is equivalent to saving 2.0824 million tons of raw coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 5.7187 million tons, which will play an important role in the green and low-carbon transformation of Xinjiang's economy and society.
