The first! This oil field solid-state battery energy storage power station was successfully connected to the grid!
Dec 13, 2024
It is reported that on December 4, the first 100 kW/124 kWh solid-state battery energy storage power station in North China Oilfield was successfully connected to the grid and put into operation at Wangsan Station of Oil Production Plant No. 3. This is the first independent solid-state battery energy storage power station of PetroChina, marking another solid step for North China Oilfield in the field of clean energy.
The New Energy Research Institute of Oil and Gas Technology Research Institute conducted in-depth research and demonstration in the early stage of the project. After several rounds of evaluation and discussion, it finally selected polymer electrolyte solid-state battery energy storage technology to form independently designed supporting products. According to the planning of the new power system of North China Oilfield, Oil Production Plant No. 3 carefully organized the on-site implementation of the project. The energy density of this product can reach 280 watt-hours/kilogram. The energy storage battery cell will not explode or burn after puncture and shooting tests, and can operate normally in extreme environments of minus 40 degrees Celsius. From the overall design point of view, the power station adopts the outdoor layout of prefabricated cabins, consisting of 1 battery cabin and 1 booster integrated cabin. The design cycle is more than 6,000 times and the service life can reach more than 10 years.
At present, Wangsan Station has a total of 11 sets of energy-consuming equipment, 5 oil wells and 2 water wells under its jurisdiction, with an annual power consumption of about 960,000 kWh. The photovoltaic installed capacity in the station is 479.6 kW, and the annual power generation is about 570,000 kWh. After the solid-state battery energy storage power station is put into operation, it adopts two operating modes: green power charging and discharging and oilfield power grid peak-valley arbitrage. The energy conversion efficiency of the energy storage battery exceeds 90%, and it is expected to supply more than 6,000 kWh of electricity to the oil wells in the station in a single month.
After the project is running normally, the Oil and Gas Technology Research Institute will track, evaluate and analyze key indicators such as the peak-shaving capacity, power quality conversion efficiency, source-grid-load-storage coordinated scheduling and project economic benefits of the energy storage power station, provide support for the construction of the clean energy highland of the North China Oilfield, and have far-reaching significance for the construction of a new power system and a new energy storage system.
In the next step, North China Oilfield will continue to build a series of professional technologies for all new energy industries integrating wind power, photovoltaics, energy storage, etc., and use different industries to penetrate into the power generation side, power grid side, and user side, truly forming a new green energy supply model that integrates the integrated "source, grid, load, and storage" power system and the non-steady-state development of oil fields, and contribute to the development and utilization of clean energy for the group company.
